    So when are these countries going to start paying us for our policing efforts?

    They won’t. They also won’t thank us. But, as Prager points out, it’s the right thing to do anyway. There’s far too much at stake to let the Russians, Chinese, North Koreans, & Iranians fill the inevitable void created when we pull out (as has—predictably—happened in Iraq).

    Well, the giant elephant in the room, with this debate, is that we know that Syria’s chemical weapons came from Iraq just before we invaded them, and nobody in the government will admit that.

    — at least that’s my theory
